As I get older I have both great memories and great regrets. One regret is that I overestimated my ability to recall events, places and people. This project, inspired by the instructors at the Photography for People school in Tel Aviv, was an attempt to deal with this. It is a fable told in a series of pictures.
In this series there are objects (like my backpack and my camera) that I call ''avatars''. These avatars have the power to travel through time and place to enhance my important memories. In this fable my avatars bring together places, times, and people important to me. And then they deliver a photo (of a place and time that never existed like this) to me at home in my armchair.
The original images were physical collages. These photos are Photoshopped of course. But done consciously in an unsubtle way to simulate physical collages.
